Operators of commonly used vibrating hand tools are among those most exposed to hand-arm vibration, whereas operators of construction or road machines and transport vehicle drivers are primarily exposed to whole-body vibration. Vibration can lead to various pathologies, mainly in the vascular, nervous and osteoarticular systems (the vibration syndrome).

The Institute's activities:

studies and evaluation of occupational risk related to exposure to vibration testing and assessment of attenuation and vibration-insulating properties of materials protecting against vibration testing and assessment of the properties of anti vibration gloves and selecting appropriate ones for given models of vibrating tools.
